This week Vxt entered into a funding agreement with Callaghan Innovation as a part of Callaghan's Research & Development funding programme. Callaghan's Getting Started Grants cover 40% of your research and development project costs up to a limit of $5,000.

We had a fantastic experience this month sharing Vxt's story with the audience at Canterbury Tech's June event.

This month Vxt was approved to join the Google Cloud for Startups Program. Participant startups receive access to community events, training and Cloud credits to help them develop their businesses. As early-stage startups like Vxt grow, the financial and community support from Google grows with them up to $100,000 USD.

Students Luke Campbell, Lucy Turner and Lachlan Maclean are on a mission to make voicemail in New Zealand more efficient with their software company Vxt. The trio are developing a 'visual voicemail' inbox application which converts voicemail to text and highlights the key point of the message. This month Vxt received a $4000 grant from New Zealand Business Intelligence (NZBI), as a part of their Giving Back competition for young entrepreneurs.

We've raised $600K in our pre-seed round and we're excited to continue transforming telecommunications for small businesses with Vxt.

Over the last decade, media outlets and bloggers have been announcing the end for voicemail. There are several possible explanations as to why people might be questioning the worth of voicemail in 2021, however in this article we will explain why voicemail isn't dead yet.

There are many reasons why someone would want to disable their voicemail service on their iPhone. Some phone providers and carriers charge extra for voicemail, and a voicemail service sometimes results in playing cat-and-mouse with those trying to contact you. Traditional voicemail services can also consume large amounts of time, with every message having to be listened to in chronological order, and it taking hours to listen to caller details and the contents of each voicemail message. Due to these issues, it’s not hard to see why many people are turning away from voicemail entirely.
